House Washing

Do you want the outside of your house to look beautiful? Has the time come to clean up all the mold, mildew, bacteria, and green slime (blue-green algae) growing on your house? Some of this stuff is actually eating your house, not just living on it. And let’s not forget the spider webs, mud daubers, wasp nests, insect poop and everything else. It’s bad enough that YOU are embarrassed by your dirty house – how do you think your friends and neighbors feel?

There are only two ways to clean the outside of your home – we recommend both:

We DO NOT pressure wash the aluminum, hardi, or vinyl siding on your home! Pressure Washing can drive the water underneath your siding causing extensive and costly damage. We do use a pressure washer on brick-sided homes, but as specialists, we know that extreme care must be taken not to damage the mortar between the bricks. Using high pressure or coming at it at the wrong angle can dislodge the mortar – and can break windows!

Soft washing is safe and effective, especially for large areas and whole houses; this works best for things like mildew and green slime. However, it doesn’t remove heavy dirt buildup, asphaltic staining of gutters, spider webs, arachnid frass, and insect nests.

Also, a delicate touch must be used in cleaning special wood shutters and trim. That’s where the hand scrubbing comes in, and that’s why we recommend both as part of a complete “house beautiful” cleaning package. Also, if you plan on doing any painting or caulking, especially around doors and windows, hand scrubbing the areas to be painted will make for a better, longer lasting paint job.
